Documenting The Illustrative Design ProcessCreated by Von. R. Glitschka

At times when I work or just go about doing something non-creative I stumble upon something that sparks my creative curiosity. This usually ends up being an artistic rabbit trail of sorts as I pursue it to see where it might lead.

Such was the case with this creative exercise. It was birthed from mere happenstance and led to a fun little side project.

  1. ok. i was just reading your notes and arrived at the hand-tracing vs the auto tool bit. I just completely understand what you’re saying. I’m totally impressed. You go. It is probably what sets your work apart from most. I find myself trapped in a real paradox with all the technology at our fingertips – supposed to make everything work just so, but really all it is is just a tool.
I don’t know. It is pretty neat. But you have managed to hold onto the common sense side of the craft.

  2. I love this project! great photos and “tutorial” :)
I’d be thrilled if you let me share it with my readers over at http://www.doodlage.com
Credit, links and all the glory to the original author guaranteed :)

  3. It depends on what kind of work your doing I guess supah…. personally I quite like the live trace.. but then I usualy simplify the result quite a bit and then fiddle with each shape to get it just right – not nessisaraly the same as what I drew on paper… but something new and clean.

By the by Von. Your creative exercises look great. I’m going to give them a go one quiet day soon. Thanks for writing them up.

  4. Very good!!! thanks to share it. Congratulations
